Artisans have been the pride and glory of the building industry for thousands of years. Their ranks include the likes of Botticelli, Bernini, Da Vinci and Edison. Their works have redefined their respective industries and have given rise to the world we live in today. But, for all of their successes there were plenty of failures. Edison famously decried that, “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” Such perseverance is admirable but, in today’s far more complicated legal world, failure of that magnitude would probably be met with some sort of litigation (which we don’t find entirely fair). We believe that you should be able to be as ambitious as Bernini, as inventive as Da Vinci and as perseverant as Edison. And with the proper artisan insurance policy you can be. Here’s what you need to know.
What is artisan insurance?
Artisan insurance is a lot like contractor’s insurance and liability insurance. It protects you from any costly mistakes that may occur either on the premises of your business or at an external work site. This policy will act as a security blanket that covers any legal fees and claims that a client (or another individual) that may make against you. Without it, the costs of court fees could end up crippling your business (or worse).
Now, accidents will not happen everyday (and they are not guaranteed to happen to your business) but working, as a contractor is a high-risk job. And if that risk decides to show up at your doorstep it pays to be properly protected. Our artisan insurance policies will give you that protection.
What’s the next step?
Whether you are a roofer, plumber, electrician or carpenter, you should consider acquiring artisan insurance (though it should not be your only form of protection). General liability insurance, workers compensation and business owners’ policies (BOP’s) are all other popular methods of protection.
